Taleigao locals fume over p'yat inaction on previous resolutions

No roads through fields, meeting on devpt of area, ban on new projects for lack of water back in focus

PANAJI

Gram sabha members  at Taleigao gram sabha on Sunday asked the panchayat about the action taken report on the resolution taken in the last gram Sabha held on Jan 29 this year stating that no roads will be built through the fields as the people need to protect low lying fields,

The  Panchayat didn’t have any answer as they didn’t report any of the resolutions to the concerned authorities. The gram sabha members informed the panchayat that for the next gram sabha we need to have Action Taken Report for the resolutions that have been passed at the gram sabha.

The Gram Sabha members raised the Issue of the Land Use Maps and Registers stating that inspite of forming committees in the Panchayat on November 20, 22 till date, not a single meeting was called to discuss development of Taleigao.

The Gram Sabha member informed the Panchayat  that they had informed the NGPDA and the Panchayat to call a technical person to explain the land use map and the register so that the common man understands and put down his suggestions and objections accordingly.

But it was sad that this was not part of the agenda and the Panchayat was asked to inform NGPDA for extension of date to submit our objections till a technical person comes and explains to the citizens of Taleigao about the land use maps and the registers as discrepancy have been found in the same.

The gram sabha members also informed that the people have a lot of water problems in Dona Paula area as well as many other areas in the village due to rise in construction of hotels and complexes and lots of buildings are hiring tankers to use water for daily use and due to this reason, resolution was passed stating that no new projects should be sanctioned or approved till the water problem is solved in the village.

Minutes of the previous gram sabha meeting and the budget have not been circulated within 15 days prior to meeting as resolution was taken on the same in the previous meetings that was held but was not implement ,  inspite of members giving their email ID and WhatsApp numbers.

The issue of website of Taleigao Panchayat is not  complete and only House Tax details are showing and at times that also doesn’t work properly and the web  is so bad that it’s taking more then 3 years to get it  ready as nothing is published on the websites and even emails are not circulated inspite of demanding the same at every gram sabha meeting.

The gram Sabha members also informed that there are lot of places where people gather together to smoke and drink in a small corners which is creating a problem in the neighbourhood and several complaints have been registered with the police regarding the same. Panchayat has been asked to follow up with the police about action taken on the complaint.

Burning of stubble in fields is big problem in Taleigao and people have had to leave their houses and move out because it is unbearable. This is happening every year and due to which the panchayat has been asked to have a discussion with the farmers and plan the same so that the community can have unpolluted air to breathe.

Lots of junctions are accident prone in Taleigao and regular accidents have been taking place in the village and so the panchayat has been requested to employ proper planning so that lives can be saved.
