‘Run for Vote’ & e-rickshaw rally promotes awareness

The Office of the Chief Electoral Office, Goa, organised a ‘Run for Vote’ rally and e-rickshaw Rally today, starting from Miramar Circle to the Goa Science Centre in the city. The aim was to raise awareness and encourage a significant turnout for voting on May 7. The event saw participation from CEO officials, staff, persons with disabilities, and election icons.  

CEO Ramesh Varma, IAS, stressed the importance of voting on May 7, aiming to surpass the previous turnout of 75 per cent. He emphasised that every vote counts and urged people to support the nation by casting their votes.  

Joint CEO Triveni Velip also encouraged citizens to exercise their right to vote.  

Participating enthusiastically in the Run for Vote rally, Taha Haziq, Secretary of Commission for Persons with Disability, Goa, and State icon for Persons with Disability, expressed satisfaction with the comprehensive inclusivity of the upcoming voting process.

He urged everyone to utilise the available facilities and turn out to vote in large numbers.  

Sudesh Gaude, Nodal Officer for Accessible Election, highlighted the use of e-rickshaws to accommodate wheelchair-bound persons with disabilities at the rally. He further urged voters with disabilities to come forward and cast their votes.
