Conversion of natural cover to settlements will hit frogs

The Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant stressed the need to save frogs in order to maintain the balance in the environment and said the government will arrest those who try to poach frogs. I fully agree with the Chief Minister on this statement but my worry is, when his own TCP Ministry at this point is alarmingly converting so much of Goa’s natural cover to settlements, to the benefit of many from outside Goa, will this also not affect the frogs, destroy their habitat and as a result drastically reduce the frog population in the State? As it is generally observed, the Goa CM and ministers make great statements of good intent to the public, but in a total hypocrisy the actual outcome of their mindless destructive policies is the opposite!
