Let focus be on repairing former homeguard's house

Former homeguard  Vimal who worked for 40 years has no provision for retirement benefits, neither she has claimed  for any social benefits.  MLA s holding office for a day have self bestowed pensions. There is overwhelming sympathy towards this simple, dedicated soul. She loved what she did  and did what she loved  passionately,  adhering to her routine duty with joy. The immediate  response  is unparalled  act of  gratitude for her plight. On her day of retirement, citizens led by Gavi Coutinho, Chinchinim presented her  with a purse by donors. Her plight was highlighted by admirers and Capt Viriato entered the scene. Public attention and sympathy was drawn towards her  legitimate need. The government joined the effort and undertook the repairs formality at the direction of new MP. Meanwhile,  concerned well wishers mobilized material, labour  to render immediate help. It is surprising that  a government agency  with police presence is stopping the private initiative. The Collector  should instead divert attention towards other cases crying for rehabilitation due to natural  disaster. It appears to be hankering for publicity in this case.
