Most of the passengers I have met travelling from the Manohar International Airport Mopa have clearly said that they feel better arriving at the Dabolim Airport, as there is complete mess and chaos everyday while traveling from Mopa to south Goa district with most of the passengers compelled to shell out a lot of money for taxi fares, even more than what they pay for the airfare. Some even said that a helicopter ride would be much cheaper than the taxi fare. However, this is not the case in neighbouring states. I have personally travelled to Bengaluru and the app taxi fare is Rs150 to Rs300 for and the bus fare is around Rs 250 for a journey of roughly around an hour than why is the taxi fare in Goa so high ? If the government has no alternative to decrease the fare than they should write to the Konkan Railways to start metro services from Pernem to Canacona. If this happens I foresee thar the taxi rates will also automatically decrease without any fuss from the cab operators or the government agencies.
