People of Goa will benefit from maintaining nature

On December 31 this year we mark the 80th birth anniversary of John Denver, the romanticist par excellence who brought nature to the pinnacle of glory in his songs which were enjoyed by one and all even today. Goa in particular with scenic beauty needs to emulate this great American singer who praised nature in a way few singers ever did. Among his immortal hits was `Country roads, take me home', `Eagles and Horses' , Calypso,  `You fill up my senses' and the not very familiar one ``Rocky Mountain High' and  `Annie's Song'. As we mark his 80th birth anniversary it would be most prudent of the people of Goa to protect our environment in the way that the great John Denver sung in his elevation of nature. Goa being a beautiful state, the people of Goa will stand to benefit from maintaining nature and not going for rampant development. Natural beauty or development is what Goans have to choose from. Denver in his beautiful songs eulogizes nature like no other singer did, which brings peace to the people who hear him.
