The much publicized swearing of affidavits by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Congress candidates that they would not defect is yet another cheap political stunt. AAP’s Chief Ministerial candidate Adv Amit Palekar should more than anyone else know that this affidavit has no legal standing whatsoever and does not have value.
At the 2017 Assembly elections despite tall promises all the AAP candidates tasted defeat. Ironically, except a handful, all those candidates have since abandoned AAP for reasons which the party should have cared to introspect.
The people of Goa know the importance of these elections and of the dire need to defeat the BJP which has misruled and destroyed Goa over the last decade. Voters will not waste their votes which will only benefit the BJP if there is a division of votes.
Today, the only option for the people of Goa is to vote unitedly and decisively for the Congress-Goa Forward alliance. This is the only way to liberate Goa by sending the BJP packing.
