This is with reference to the report, "Engg student raped in bus at Panaji - The Goan Everyday December 27, 2022." Yet another rape, this time not in Mumbai or Delhi, but in the capital city of beautiful Goa. A young college student being raped by the bus driver, what is wrong with people, one wonders. It is evident that such people are frustrated and beyond control of themselves. That the girl was supposedly drunk, is no justification for the bus driver to commit this crime. Getting drunk is secondary. Even then, they ought to think of the consequences of their actions. The bus driver must be meted out severe punishment in order to prevent such crimes, this has been stated time & time again. But, then the judicial system being as it is, what can one expect? Parliament must amend or pass new laws in view of the increasing cases of crimes against women, such that the the convict is subject to punishment equal to the crime. Or else, crimes against women would never come to an end.
