About 22,500 Indians have reportedly returned home safely from war-torn Ukraine with the Indian government undertaking one of the most challenging evacuation exercises. All Goan students studying in Ukraine have also been evacuated and have landed home safely. Most of them are medical students from several Ukrainian medical universities. There has even been a suggestion that these students need to be absorbed in the government medical colleges in the country so that they can continue with their studies in their home states. However, what comes as refreshing news to the students from all over India who are pursuing their medical studies in Ukraine is that several Ukrainian medical universities have started online classes for their students. This has given a ray of hope to the Indian students who feared a bleak future after fleeing from the war-torn country. Despite being caught in a war, it is indeed commendable that the Ukrainian medical universities have realized the need for their students to continue their studies through online classes. These online classes will obviously be a temporary arrangement till such time that the war ends.
