Debris sullying beach road in Benaulim

A drain construction project on the Benaulim beach road began about a month ago, but the work remains incomplete, causing inconvenience and posing a serious risk to motorists and pedestrians.

The contractor has abandoned the site without clearing construction debris, while heaps of sand and rubble remain scattered around the uncovered drain, making the stretch unsafe for road users.

Adding to the concern, some of the existing drain cover slabs are reportedly being vandalised, with miscreants removing steel reinforcement bars from them.

This not only worsens the damage but also increases the danger to the public. Will the local MLA please intervene urgently and ensure the work is completed and the area made safe?
