In the past few days social media has been barraged with posts about how ethanol blended petrol is perfectly safe for your vehicles. Hardeep Puri, the Minister of Petroleum has even suggested that ethanol is used in Formula 1 racing cars to improve acceleration, forgetting that we don't even have roads worthy of driving normally, much less racing and it's the mileage and damage that we are concerned about. Car manufacturers like Suzuki and Toyota have gone on record saying that ethanol blended fuel causes no damage to their vehicles. And in all of this not one person said, " Hey people don't worry. If any of you have any damages to the engine, fuel tank, rubber linings or any other car parts because of ethanol blended fuel, we will give you a replacement completely free of charge". And literally, this is all we need to hear.
