The Indian Constitution grants varied fundamental rights to the citizens of India. It is the existence of these rights that brings meaning to democracy or democratic India or even in Goa.

The term “freedom of speech” has been taken out of context and given various forms of interpretation by people who either don’t understand the term completely or have an agenda in mind to violate the fundamental freedom that every democratic Indian or Goan has.
Are we saying, a student cannot debate with a teacher, a priest cannot give a sermon on what is wrong, a common man cannot question a government staffer or one cannot write a letter to any news paper if ethics get derailed?
Are we saying -- Article 19 -- should be abolished or adjusted to benefit some holding powers and we lay persons stay mute fearing vendetta?
