Our nation is going through a raging pandemic. In Goa, our communal harmony has always been our pride and joy as we have been very fortunate that our Hindu, Muslim and Catholic brothers and sisters have always worked in tandem. Our unity regardless of creed has been our strength.
As responsible citizens, we need to resolve that at least in 2020 we shall keep away from all religious and other festivities that accelerates the virus from being transmitted from person to person. Let us save the crackers, fireworks, music and revelry for those better days when we can celebrate as a united joyous people and State, free from a deadly pandemic rather than in these sad and challenging times.
This year it may have been a sombre Eid and its worth not celebrating Diwali and Christmas on the streets at least in 2020 while hoping of better days ahead. The Narkasurs and Santa Clauses will have to wait for safer days.
Once the virus is gone, let us together all celebrate in true brotherhood the festival of all communities.
