The current Goa government's excuse that Goa is too small for a tiger reserve is outrageous to say the least. These politicians strangely don't seem to find Goa small for the following: two airports; coal hubs and its massive transportation corridors(rail/road),So many mega housing projects and counting; massive golf estates; land conversions from natural cover to settlements, so as to benefit cash rich real estate companies from outside Goa; giving most of of our coast/rivers to specific corporates; large acres of land to farmhouses for non local individuals, etc. Is Goa really small for tigers or are there other reasons like the huge profiteering these politicians can make and also to protect partners with vested interests ie miners, real estate sharks/developers and encroachers who are their votebanks. These ruling politicians are holding the whole of Goa to ransom; in particular mention of the Mhadei water diversion issue where the tiger reserve will surely make Goa's case very strong.
