This refers to 'Skin specialist arrested for running overseas job racket' (TGE, February 8). Doctors running an overseas job racket? What is happening in our country? Does the Hippocratic Oath permit medical professionals to deviate from their profession into unethical practices? What was it that made this skin specialist resort to such a racket?
Unearthing this racket, however, exposes an important issue in the country, and that is unemployment. Job seekers seem so desperate, perhaps frustrated, that they are willing to take such risks, losing their money in the process. The doctor may face the music for this misadventure, but the government must take appropriate steps to tackle the issue of unemployment.
