The elected sarpanch and the panch members should belong to the same village/panchayat and they should be aware of local problems. Moreover, they should be thoroughly involved with the functions, duties and responsibilities to showcase their work during their term. Apart from above, these appointed Panchayat members also have the duty to look for any illegal or anti-social activity taking place in the village. They are responsible to resolve disputes arising in the village to maintain peace and harmony, even if they need help from the constituency MLA or Government in power.
It is only very recently we have seen some light at the end of the tunnel with existing Sarpanch showing some legitimacy, ever since he occupied the chair recently. All said and done, the coming election on June 15, the Sarzora villagers should wisely chose and elect one who has the good experience of being a panch for last 5 years, who knows the villagers well, has good knowledge of the functioning and responsibilities, who has an educated mind set, maintains principles and who takes good interest in the villagers' social, religious and welfare activities.
