A full-fledged live concert of Goa's multi-faceted legendary music icon Remo Fernandes was beautifully organized by dynamic present parish priest, Fr Socorro Mendes of St Anthony's Church, Siolim in the same village recently right beside the church and was well-attended by a huge crowd from different parts of Goa. This was Remo's first ever full-fledged live concert with his current full band 'The Microwave Papadums' in his own village of Siolim.
The one thing I saw about Remo that evening was that though he was giving this particular show after so many years, he was still like a highly charged live wire on stage and full of energy. And when he went on to play his flute and the solos on his electric guitar, he simply proved his worth by setting the stage on fire with his great magical music. Anyway, a big salute to Remo for not following the current trend of bluffing the audience with some cheap short-cut ready-made programming/sequencing music but for still performing and playing each & every instrument fully live on stage. Hope to see some more shows of Remo in other parts of Goa in the near future.
