Sad to see pathetic state of Ravindra Bhavan

During a recent visit I was shocked to see the sorry state of Ravindra Bhavan, Margao. Rising dampness in staircases, moss and algae in the indoor waterbody, leaky ceilings, peeling paint / plaster, broken plumbing fixtures etc. were seen everywhere. There was no sign of preventive or regular maintenance anywhere. It is pathetic to see such a prestigious cultural institution under the Directorate of Art and Culture in this state of extreme neglect, especially when there is no shortage of funds. The Ravindra Bhavan has played host to various tiatrs, art and photography exhibitions, dramas, seminars, music concerts, fados etc. which have been enjoyed immensely by Goans from all over the state and the country. The government should immediately take steps to restore RB to it's former glory for no one would like to visit a dilapidated building to partake of cultural and social activities.
