A reckless people and a polarised country

Our democracy and unity in diversity is now greatly polarized with riots and the law and order machinery busy with conspiracies, alleged custodial deaths, riots and preventing people and political parties from violating each other! The Covid pandemic and warnings to use masks as the danger is not over, falls on deaf ears. We boast about our culture, but the present behaviour does not reflect it when the people recklessly pollute everywhere and police find it hard to control traffic violations despite heavy fines being imposed.  Police seem to do their duty by concentrating on fines and not basically ensuring coordination with all departments that signages are proper and  visible, potholes and footpaths maintained, people's lives saved by preventative action. The government professes "Sab ke saath," etc and it appears hell bent on doing just the opposite. Our opposition parties are high on ego and will not get their act together to provide a united strong front. We have a divided India with one section of people doing extremely well and another desperately trying to make ends meet !
