Swearing in definitely calls for a celebration. It is swearing at that calls for no celebration. Remember, it was the Congress who were against partying in Goa. Thanks to them we are in the present mess. Surely the BJP, the richest party in India couldn't just invite people from all over Goa for a cup of tea. Becoming a CM is like being wedded to Goa and as such calls for an event of the same stature as any wedding. Would people have been happier if the CM had had a private function for a few privileged people only behind closed doors. Tongues would still wag. In spite of inflation and the Coronavirus pandemic people are still having large-scale weddings. Is anyone offering to suffer on behalf of those suffering. The answer to that is No! Every year expensive IPL cricket match celebrations are held. Are these matches of any productive use to the nation ? Are the audience who faithfully watch these matches invited to participate in them ? Once again No!
