The Karnataka elections have shown the vulnerability of the ruling dispensation where in the Congress has an edge and could come up trumps with a minimum 113 majority. This is despite a hectic canvassing with an array of central and state BJP leaders who left no stone unturned to woo the electorate. Many cine stars were roped in besides Mhadei water diversion added to parched terrain of the State. Defections of Lingayat votes to the Congress could prove costly. No party in recent memory were returned to power in the State. These elections could prove a litmus test for the big one to come next year. Stakes are high for both national parties as both are eyeing to mop up the cream in terms of revenue generation, hi-tech prowess, green house farming techniques to spur economic activity and growth in education. Make in India has taken off in a big way in the upliftment of economic development of the state. Both parties are hoping to add a feather to their crown.
