Using Rs 10 and Rs 20 coins as legal tender

RBI has issued Rs 10 coins and also Rs 20 coins. However in Goa we find Rs 10 as not a legal tender exchange and nobody wants to accept them right from small shops to buses. The Rs 10 coins are almost banned by the people of Goa and hence not in circulation. The RBI has given clear instructions that Rs 10 coins and Rs 20 coins already in market are legal tender and hence nobody can deny to accept the same. In other states like Maharashtra, Karnataka the same is in use and is accepted by traders and in  buses. The RBI has given instructions that Rs 10 notes have nearly stopped being printed and hence coins  should be used for tender exchange.  As per SBI chief manager Vasco, Parab they have almost Rs 1.27 lakh of worth in terms of Rs10 coins and if nobody accepts then the same will not be in circulation. It's therefore duty of public at large and bankers to create awareness that Rs 10 and Rs 20 coins are legal tender and should be used in market and buses.
