Goa is known as tourist destination in India as well as outside India. Most of the tourists come to Goa for beaches and greenery . However the North Goa and South Goa both have beaches to visit and many prefer North Goa beaches as they are famous for the relaxation and sunbathing for foreigners. Many tourists look for calm and being away from the city spots and for that rural areas and villages in Goa can play bigger role in attracting them. Goa is known for its natural beauty with greenery around and many village areas now can become tourist spots. As tourists come for a change and want to be away from city life which is full of pollution and crowded with people. The recent visit by minister to Sanguem, Curchorem and other places of interest has given new ideas to people of villages who can provide accommodation and local food to tourists. The village areas are best place for relaxation as it will provide more natural scenery with rivers flowing and mountains thus having a blanket of greenery around. The tourism department should concentrate more on village cottages for family living in villages who can provide better service and hospitality to the visitors. The village tourism can give boost for locals which will be a source of income and livelihood to them.
