The National Education Policy 2020 proposed transformative reforms to India’s education system, primarily focusing on dissolving multiple school boards to reduce class divisions. School lays the foundation for education, instilling civic sense, personal responsibility, and social values.
During their formative years in school, many children exhibit exceptional talents, interests, and rapid learning abilities in specific areas. However, our outdated education curriculum and assessment methods often fail to nurture these gifts, resulting in the loss of potential talent. Consequently, we risk losing promising talent and potential innovators.
Additionally, professional courses face the following challenges: 1) Costly education excludes marginalised talent. 2) Vocational training has insufficient trade schools and overlooks sectors like fishery and agriculture. 3) Outdated infrastructure. 4) Theory-focused teachers need to be replaced with industry experts, ideally retired or transitioning professionals, to provide practical training.
