What will 2023 have in store for us?

As we ring in the New Year, the question uppermost in the minds of people is what has 2023 in store for us. Is it going to be another year of high inflation, soaring prices, heavy taxation, rising unemployment, hunger and poverty, dropping interest rates, or a year of a booming economy and prosperity?

Will it be the end or the beginning of another wave of the killer pandemic that is  threatening to spread and wreck the lives and livelihood of millions, with unending lock-downs and safety protocols?

Will our leaders be more concerned about their political survival and cling to power for personal gains or work selflessly for the betterment of the people and the nation?

Burning the old man on New Year's eve is an annual ritual, symbolising the end of the old year and the unwanted baggage we carry during the year, which needs to be shed.

So, as we begin the New Year, let us also pray for the welfare of our country and leaders, so that they may continue to guide and rule us with the wisdom of Solomon and usher in a New Year of peace, happiness, prosperity and justice.

We need to…
