A toast to 83 years of Neil Diamond

Like a true diamond that radiates spectacularly coloured light, Neil Diamond who is celebrating today, Jan 24 his 83rd birthday had a song for everyone which was sung with the virtuosity of a superman. 'Morningside' to start with paid a tribute to the passing away of an old man, `Carmelita's eyes' extolled the brilliance of a maiden's exquisitely sparkling eyes, most desirable (The waitin' and prayin' was making me tell myself lies), `Gitchy Goomy' was a song sung to your young son, `Play me' is for the woman in your life, `Suzanne' briefly touches on Jesus Christ, (For he's touched your perfect body to his mind), `If you go away' reminded a bride of the good times (But if you stay, I'll make it a day that no day has been or will be again), `Gone too soon'  was a tribute to the great men that have graced this earth, (They all sweated beneath the same sun, looked up with wonder at the same moon). Such a great singer with a voice that was extraordinary deserves our acclaim for having graced our lives with the plethora of lyrical masterpieces.
