Abandoned vehicles an eyesore at rail station

It is shocking to see the situation at the Margao railway station where a large number of vehicles are abandoned even as the police and railway authorities make no attempt to clear the nuisance.

As you enter the railway station, one can see two-wheelers and four-wheelers that are parked for months together and have gathered dust.

These vehicles apart from eating into the parking space, are also an eyesore to passengers and tourists who enter the station. Vehicles are also seen parked outside the railway station along the roads for years together.

Another issue is a large number of migrants have made the space inside and outside the railway station their second home. One can see them openly cooking, bathing, drinking and eating. Beggars too are adding to the problem.

These issues have been highlighted in the media several times but the menace still continues.

It is high time the Margao MLA, the railway authority, MMC and the police get their act together and clear this mess before it festers into a bigger problem.
