Former NCP leader Baba Siddique was shot dead in Mumbai on Dussehra day. The motive behind the murder is unclear, but the Bishnoi gang is suspected to be involved.
Siddique, who was once a Congress leader in Bandra before joining Ajit Pawar's NCP, was shot around 9:30 PM when three bullets were fired from a 9mm pistol during Dussehra celebrations.
Siddique was known to have close ties with Bollywood actors Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan, often attending events with them. It has come to light that Salman Khan was also reportedly on the gang's hit list due to his involvement in a past hunting incident, with an attack on his life being attempted in 2022.
The two main suspects, who have been apprehended by Mumbai police, hail from Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. They had allegedly been residing in Mumbai for the past month, waiting for the right opportunity to carry out the murder. It is reported that they were paid in advance for the crime. Lawrence Bishnoi, the leader of the gang, has been in jail for nearly a decade, though the exact reason behind Siddique's murder remains unknown.
