The Saligao parisheners are going to celebrate the annual Consecration Day Feast mass of their iconic Mae-de-Deus church on November 26. Unfortunately, some individuals, despite of knowing the above fact have still decided to hold their 'Made in Saligao' weekly market at the premises of 'The Saligao Institute' on the same day for unknown reasons. Now, how could they when most of the individuals who are seen selling their various items at the weekly market are from Saligao? And don't the organisers who are hell-bent on going ahead with their weekly market at the Institute on the Consecration day this Tuesday know the importance and significance of this great historical day in Saligao? Well, I would advise the organisers of the 'Made in Saligao' weekly market to stop playing with the religious sentiments/ traditions of our village and to postpone this coming week Tuesday's market at the institute to either Wednesday, Thursday, Friday or Saturday for the good of Saligao and Salgaonkars.
