Traffic signboards play a significant role in guiding motorists proceeding along the road. However, at some locations in the state, we come across some signboards which fail to serve their basic purpose. Seen in the picture is a signboard (depicting the prescribed speed limit of 50) existing along the main road leading from Varkhandem towards Farmagudi in Ponda. The location is in the vicinity of Kadamba Bus Terminus. With the existing bushes, the mentioned instruction is invisible for vehicular traffic. Hence there is every possibility of over-speeding among the vehicle riders. Mishaps are likely to occur in the process. The authorities concerned should take a serious view and clear the bushes covering the signboards so that safety is assured to one and all. Let us hope that prompt favourable action would follow in public interest.
