Former BJP Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar opines that 90% of government jobs are not filled on merit by the present government. The GFP states that those applying for jobs are equally guilty and may not come forward as witnesses. Replying to a question as to what would police do if a minister is found involved in the scam, the CM replied that investigation is ongoing and guilty will not escape the law. Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar reportedly said when I see certain things the question comes to my mind as to what will be the fate of people when ministers and the CM work only for themselves? Member of Parliament Viriato Fernandes criticised the police for their claims that politicians were not involved in the scam and called for the Centre and SIT to investigate this scam. Recently the Udaipur Film Fest was forced out of a University auditorium over films screened dedicated to Palestine children and late Dr GN Saibaba and some right wing groups also targeted a bookstall at the venue for controversial material. This unconstitutional abdication of law and order promotes bullying and injustice where the police must be free to investigate and take action as per law.
