Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte has reportedly called on all Goans to unite in building the Brand Goa. I would like to question the Tourism Minister on whether the government properly defined Brand Goa which I hope is on sustainable/environmentally friendly lines and where the local genuine interests are held as priority and whether he is really serious about his govt working together with Goans? Why are so many mega housing projects coming up in Goa which are moving Goa towards the likes of polluted places like Mumbai, Pune, Delhi etc. Is the mass conversion of Goa's lands to settlements including forested areas, NDZ, hills, open spaces, fields by the TCP Minister under acts like 39/A, 17/2 etc part of Goa government strategy to build Brand Goa... looks more like destruction of Brand Goa and its appealing environment to me. The fact is that many Goans don't trust the intentions of Goa's ruling politicians which appear to be sinister. So hence the ball is in the Goa government court to make amends and show they are genuinely interested in the proper and sustainable progress for Goa.
