While everyone including the PM is admitting that the Parliament intrusion case is serious, the BJP MP who recommended issue of visitor passes to the 2 intruders is moving about freely.
No action is being taken against him. By all logic he should have been suspended from the House until the investigation is complete. In contrast action has been initiated against Opposition MPs who have been demanding a statement from Home Minister Amit Shah on the incident.
The pattern that is evolving with the present BJP government as we have been noticing is that they will dictate how protests are to be voiced including the when & where of such protests.
They will protract the matter until the Opposition and the public lose interest in it as we have seen in Manipur. The problem continues to simmer but no statement or visit has been forthcoming from the Prime Minister.
The deliberate ignoring of important issues and not acting as is expected as the norm in handling Parliamentary matters is setting a dangerous precedent in Indian democracy.
