Dire need for police to crack whip on traffic offenders

Accidents are increasing by leaps and bounds, almost everyday a precious life is lost. We see youngsters taking to the roads without a driving licence and mostly in an inebriated state, which is absolutely disastrous. The authorities should crack the whip and  impound the vehicles and cancel their licences. A person should focus on his driving at all times, it takes a fraction of a second to lose control and the driver might be totally unaware of the dangers which lie ahead. Adhering  to traffic rules is of utmost importance. Many  vehicles by virtue of being old have crossed the safety limits and road worthiness  still ply on roads. Squatting cattle on roads are also to be blamed, these must be rounded up and impounded. Highway traffic cops should keep a thorough vigil at all times. It should be a team effort working in shifts keeping a tab on every suspicious looking entity who would be a potential accident prone offender by taking swift decisions. Functional alcoholometers must be kept at most police stations in coastal belts. Drones could be used to track runaway hit-and-run cases.
