Drones to monitor forests a good move


Apropos to the news item in The Goan ‘Govt mulls drones to keep eye on forests’.

It is good to know that the authorities are finally waking up to reality, taking recourse to modern technology to help monitor forests, wildlife sanctuaries and national park. 

This will allow help to keep a check on those responsible for overseeing the forests, etc. However, one hopes that the results of the drones would be taken to its logical conclusion and that those responsible for any unauthorised/illega/suspicious activities are brought to book. Or else, it would be a wasted exercise.

Come to think of it, why is it that we have to resort to such measures, if only people would understand their limits, by their responsibilities. But expecting that seems a far cry! So, crack the whip!
