Exit polls: Morale booster for Congress

Most exit polls have put the Congress in a comfortable position after the recently concluded polls in 5 States, with an edge over the BJP in Chhattisgarh and Telengana and a close fight in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.

This has certainly come as a shot in the arm and morale booster for a party, struggling to keep its head above troubled waters, and a leader among other Opposition parties in the newly formed INDIA alliance for the forthcoming 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

In Goa however, the picture is a totally different and dismal one, after the recent visit of Goa desk in charge Manickam Tagore, who lamented that the party in the State was in disarray, with party workers inactive.

Nothing surprising, after the party has been reduced to a mere 3 inexperienced and voiceless MLAs, after the defection of 8 of its MLAs to the BJP. On the other hand, we have the old party warhorses aspiring for a Lok Sabha ticket after a poor past record.
