The citizens from both South Goa and North Goa Districts should be congratulated for holding a protest rally on last Saturday morning, outside the Mathany Saldanha Administrative Complex, Margao to oppose the hosting of Sunburn festival in South Goa this time. Well, first of all why do the Sunburn organisers want to hold this festival only in Goa, and that too during Christmas/New Year? Why aren't they organising this same festival in states like Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Telangana, Chhattisgarh or Jharkhand if they feel that their festival has so much of following everywhere? Well, today the whole world knows that the reason why most domestic tourists flock here to attend festivals like Sunburn is to get high on drugs/booze & to hold Goans to ramson by creating nuisance everywhere. I feel that festivals like Sunburn which have never given any benefits for our locals, Goan music artists but have only helped our politicians, drug dealers/suppliers mafia to make fast money during such festivals and have gone to cause massive traffic-jams/ congestions everywhere should be permanently shunted out of Goa for the betterment of our future generations.
