US president-elect Donald Trump famous statements in lead up to the US election elections was “drill baby drill” which basically meant maximize more on fossil fuels. The shocking thing he was (and is ignoring) is the horrific climate change impact on his country, one has to just see videos of the current ongoing Los Angeles fires to see what I mean. One does not need to go far to be surprised on such a destructive mindset by politicians. In Goa the ruling government politicians are devastating Goa with the sure objective to maximise their personal/family wealth and with which should climate related tragedies hit Goa they can go to the safe havens abroad. But it’s well known that climate change and its impact can hit any part of the world. So where are these Goan politicians planning to run to ? Is the sensible thing to do not obvious i.e. taking care of their own State to possibly give all Goans a chance to adapt/survive to the climate change threat?
