At the crowded Goa Gramin Food festival held in the courtyard of Inox, Panaji on Sunday, the last day saw mega crowds at this venue and many other events on the same day/times like NoMo Zone in Porvorim and the Fish Festival also in Panaji. Firstly, many people attending generally have poor civic sense. At the food festival there were not enough trash bins, there has to be a divider at the entrance so people going in and coming out don’t crash into each other, someone to clear the thoughtfully provided round tables as people finish eating and leave their dirty plates and stuff behind so others cannot utilize the place. Organizing so many events gives people multiple choices and perhaps lets the government make a lot of money. But what about the traffic and parking places? I did not see any police controlling traffic, firefighting equipment, etc. Prevention is better than cure and before tragedy strikes, I suggest the government think of the safety of people attending first.
