Govt should act against Mandrem MLA


With the Special Investigation Team (SIT) at the Crime Branch which is investigating the land grabbing in Goa having indicted the Mandrem MLA Jit Arolkar of land grabbing and cheating, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant should act against him.

The SIT has given the Justice V K Jadhav Commission details on the manner in which Arolkar grabbed land admeasuring 1,48,800 sq mtrs situated at Dhargal in Pernem of which Mapusa based Rawloo Khalap currently residing in California is a co-owner.

The SIT in its affidavit has stated that the accused Arolkar based on the Power of attorney of the heirs of one co-owner took over the affairs of the property and illegally created approximately 200 plots in the undivided property and fraudulently executed sale deeds with third parties while selling the entire property without the consent of all the co-owners.

It is incumbent that the SIT now also probes the other land grabbing similarly done by Arolkar and in connivance with the Pernem revenue officials.

Withdraw hike in power tariff
