With the rising prices of tomatoes many States across India have announced price support measures to bring consumers the tomatoes at prices below market prices ruling variously from Rs 120 to Rs 200 per Kg across India. Consumers are being given the tomatoes at Rs 80 to Rs 90 per Kg.
However, from CM Pramod Sawant or the Goa Government there is not a single comment on this matter. One would have to believe that Goans do not eat tomatoes and are thus unaffected by the rise in prices. This is how much responsive and citizen friendly is this Goa government.
With the Assembly session starting on Monday, one hopes that a sympathetic and citizen friendly MLA would raise the question of the price of tomatoes.
