What do we know of TMC's Griha Laxmi Scheme? In Bengal, the scheme is known as Laxmi Bhandar Scheme. In Goa, there is no eligibility for the same except being a woman and having a mobile number. To register one just has to call a number, get an OTP and get registered. They promise Rs5,000 pm. 1.5 lakh have registered even though the TMC is not the government. Is this not a cruel joke on these people? Laxmi Bhandar Scheme promises Rs500 pm for general category and Rs1,000 pm for SC/ST. Why? Because this calls for funds. Eligibility: Women must be permanent residents of Bengal aged between 25 to 60. Women having permanent jobs in Govt. or private cannot avail the same. For the general category, families having 1 tax paying member or 2 hectares of land are not eligible. It is obvious that it is a gimmick to fool Goans not caring for the future costs nor the fact that this will cause mass migration to Goa.
