The place at the SGPDA retail fish market earmarked for parking of four wheelers is occupied mostly by two wheelers giving the four wheeler owners no space to find a slot. Just a couple of days back I had to spend a good half an hour before I could find one and so was the situation with some other four wheelers.
There should be some home guard posted at this place during peak morning market hours to regulate the parking. Similar is the situation at the Margao city side where private cars parking spaces are used by bikes, taxis, autos and semi-utility vehicles giving scant or no respect to the signages in place.
The taxi owners think they are a law unto themselves and become very abusive is any private vehicle is parked at their parking slots. If one goes by the statistics four wheelers have increased two or three folds but the parking spaces have remained stagnant. Its high time the authorities impose some discipline in this matter. The multi level parking is only at the blueprint stage for the past two decades and yet to see the light of day.
