Made of mettle, shabash Tomy

Amongst all the bleak news emanating out of India these days it was heartening to note that brave-heart and sailor extraordinaire Commander Abhilash Tomy of India finished second in the gruelling Golden Globe race 2023, the longest and toughest of its kind which can be gauged from the fact that out of the 16 competitors who started on the @ 56,000 km ocean odyssey, only 2 managed to cross the finish line.

A former naval maritime reconnaissance pilot, Tomy had suffered multiple spinal fractures after his boat collided with a merchant ship in the 2018 edition of the GG race.

Tomy's feat teaches us important life lessons; we have no control over the rough seas or direction of gale force winds in our lives but we can definitely trim our sails to counter adversities and cope.

Second and more importantly, it has to be always a case of mind over matter if you wish to succeed in any sphere of life. Shabash Tomy, you are an inspiration to millions.
