We see Goan ministers spending a lot of time and taxpayers money on official visits to places outside Goa that include foreign countries and places like Delhi, Gujarat, etc. It would be nice for each minister to have regular official visits to as many places in Goa to review governance and ensure laws/regulations/basic standards are being maintained.
Can I request the Environment, Tourism and Waste Management Ministers to please do an official visit to Colva Village and please conduct a thorough review of the village with respect to their ministries? In particular, I request them to look at general garbage management (currently garbage being collected only 4 times a month and garbage collectors don't take specific items like pampers etc!), lack of sufficient garbage bins on the beaches and key points in the village, sewage release by hotels/housing societies, sorry state of the beach and adjacent areas, open burning (including plastics) by official cleaners and various business establishments etc, illegal touts doing business on the beach, restaurants and food carts and do not miss out the filthy Colva creek area which attracts thousands of tourists.
