Most Goans are currently anxiously waiting for the assembly election results to come out as they are hoping to see a brand new government headed by a truly secular political party taking over and ruling Goa for the next five years. But the big question is, will that really happen in Goa? Or are we going to be ruled by the same old dispensation once again headed by a bunch of known legendary mercenaries after buying a few power-hungry newly-elected MLAs from opposition camps soon after the election results are out in Goa? There are rumours already doing the rounds saying that some BJP leaders are already in touch with probable winning candidates of most rival political camps and are believed to be promising them a few left-over lollipops to somehow make them join their party soon after the results are out in Goa. This looks like a sure possibility because despite getting just 13 seats compared to Congress party's 17 seats in the last assembly elections in2017, they had swiftly managed to form their own government overnight after buying a few newly elected power hungry MLAs from rival political parties in Goa. I think that as long as the most controversial anti-defection law is not amended, such type of dramas will continue to go on and we voters will forever end up like big jokers in front of these most self-centred, power-hungry, money-minded politicians in Goa/India. Yes, elections will come and go, but these politicians will continue jumping like frogs from one political party to another for their own personal development/gains and making a complete mockery of the whole political system in Goa/India by misusing the said controversial anti-defection law in the years to come, whether some blind voters accept this harsh fact or not.
