Many unwary but literate individuals have been duped by scamsters. The platforms like PayTM, Google, etc are not yet 100 per cent secure as yet in India, like they are abroad. It appears that officials are facilitating the scams or providing information on net worth for scamsters. Banks should not permit these transfers except in person with passbooks, when customers operate by withdrawal slips, cheques etc. Withdrawal slips are now available on demand only. The government of India policy to provide signed, photo copy of Aadhar, PAN, passport for forced linking everywhere makes these documents widely available. The security and safety of these documents is seen in their rampant duplication. Inspite of Supreme Court order not to link accounts with Aadhar, the directive is not entertained by banks. God forbid with advance of AI, the tools towards defrauding may become more sophisticated. The machine now can duplicate any complex signature. Biometrics are the latest security measure. The tactics used by fraudsters to cheat gullible individuals are innovative and often beyond their comprehension.
