Hat off to the team of ‘The Goan’ for bringing forward the various scams pertaining to excise scams in Goa, a department which is handled by non-other than CM Promod Sawant. The entire Excise Department is involved in knee deep corruption. From top to bottom, everyone is involved in loot and extortion business. The glaring of scandal is just not limited in Pernem taluka, but huge corruption activities and criminality are going in South Goa.
In South Goa, we have to two Superintendent of Excise running the show, one is Station at Margao and another Superintendent is heading Canacona Taluka. Curiously, Canacona Excise Superintendent has continued on his post despite promotion.
Similarly, the are various types of illegalities being committed in Canacona. From duplicate liquor to fake liquor licenses, everything goes in this State popular with tourists. Now, the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) needs to come into picture and investigate all Excise Department officials and the CBI needs to take the corrupt officials to the task.
