South Goa Oppn MLAs should raise voices against Sunburn

The 18-day monsoon session of the state legislative assembly which commences today July 15, is likely to be stormy as the opposition has reportedly rolled up its sleeves to corner the government on various issues. The matters that need to be addressed include the dengue scare, ‘Smart City’ conundrum, landslides, flooding, noise pollution along the coastal belt among other issues galore. However what is also significant is the controversy surrounding the shifting of the controversial Sunburn EDM festival from North to South Goa. The opposition to holding the music festival in South Goa is growing by the day as there are claims that such events have eroded Goa’s cultural values. The government needs to come clear on the issue. It is for the elected representatives from South Goa who are in the opposition to raise the issue in the assembly in one voice.
