Where are we headed?

The announcement to observe Samvidhaan Hatya Diwas is just a reminder of the new law in place. Consider the incident near Revora Panchayat, where Gaurav Bakshi asked the Minister’s driver to move his car so he could park. This minor request turned into a police case, with no bail granted and the citizen spending a night in jail. Will the same strictness apply to illegal roadside parking and businesses in every Goan village?

The politician, known for few words, reacted in a manner suggesting the ruling government uses its power to silence anyone standing up for their rights. Where are we headed? It seems towards a modern emergency where voices of citizens are silenced unless they comply or face repercussions. This is nothing short of poor governance.
